Guide Dogs for the Blind Association

We are Guide Dogs and

  • we provide mobility and freedom to blind and partially sighted people.
  • we campaign for the rights of people with visual impairment, educate the public about eye care and fund eye disease research.
  • we have been expertly breeding and training guide dogs for more than 90 years, providing many thousands to blind and partially sighted people of all ages and from all walks of life.
  • we deliver confidence-building rehabilitation services to adults, young people and children - including long cane mobility training and communication and daily living skills.

At Guide Dogs we could not do what we do without our amazing volunteers. So, whatever your interest and time commitments, we have a role for you from:

  • Sighted Guides that open up a new world for individuals living with sight loss
  • Fostering our future guide dogs in training
  • Puppy raising by help us raise a future guide dogs
  • Various roles within our fundraising groups as at guide dogs we like to say we put the FUN into fundraising
  • Recruiters, a role to help us raise awareness of our services and our volunteering roles.

We offer full training and reimburse out of pocket expenses
